Run + Superbowl + Healthy Choice

{Workouts}

Friday: gym: 5 miles @ 9:40pace
Saturday: gym: 6 miles @ 9:40pace
________________________________________

I've been stuck on the treadmill since I left Mr.Garmin at my parent's place. We will be reunited soon.
No garmin means treadmill..and that means, I mentally cannot do a "long" run on there. It's just not happening.

I did 5 miles on Friday and 6 on Saturday. Legs feeling great and felt easy.

Another pair of pro compression socks have arrived. The addiction continues.

Mandatory post-workout sweaty pic.

Anyone else spend a stupid amount of time on running websites??

It's funny to me that a simple thing like putting on running shoes and doing the same motion over and over again can have me talking bout it for hours, or reading about it for hours.
Browsing runnersworld.com and womens running (which very recently featured the first - and one of my fave - running blogs I've ever read! skinnyrunner) is something I love to do on my downtime!

If you have any other websites you love, throw them my way please!

Happy Superbowl Sunday!!!

Are you watching?? Is your team in it?

I definitely just want a great game since my team isn't in it!
My sports fanatic self is INSANELY excited though.

I don't know what to do with myself as I wait for the half time show with this woman:

The fan in me will lose my mind when she brings out these girls:

I hope this dude makes an appearance as well:

I feel like she's got a lot of pressure on her performance. Don't worry, I got your back Bey. All you gotta do is show up, wear a cute outfit, smile here and there, and I am impressed. Love her.

I've been spending my last few days as a 24 year old (noooooooo!) with some friends and staying out too late.

I know 98.654% of you guys are GREAT cooks, but do you ever pop in one of those Healthy Choice or Lean Cuisine meals? What are your thoughts on them?

If you ever need someone to take unappealing pictures of your food - call me.

I needed a late (like, 2:30am) "snack" and got extremely lazy, so, that's what happened last night.
I always have a couple stored in my freezer as a just-in-case thing. I DO genuinely like the taste of most of these meals...but, the portion size is impossible to feel full, or even remotely satisfied on it if you eat it alone as dinner one night! Don't try that at home for those purposes. ha!

  1. Haha, I love your Beyonce support... I totally love her too! I told my hubby that if she ever comes to NZ I HAVE TO GO! I'm so with you on the running thing, I can spend a scary amount of time on running blogs and websites. And... When I was first pregnant, all I wanted to eat were those microwave meals (not all the healthy choice ones though). I am past that phase now though :) HOpe you enjoyed the Super Bowl

  2. Not much for running but I admire your love for it & I respect it. I love group fitness the same way. I am all about Beyonce, but that's it, I have no clue who is even playing. I'm a basketball fan only. Those meals ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT enough to feel full...just my opinion:)

    2. JoiI don't have one. I fall in love with them as collegiate players and kinda just like to see the competition. I played in college & grew up loving all the talent. I'm not a Lakers hater like so name ppl on twitter, they're cool with me!February 3, 2013 at 6:56 AM

    3. Cell phones are the devil...sorry about that comment!

  3. I have never tried one of those meal, but they look far too small for a runner - useful to have in the house thigh, just in case! Running on the treadmill is never as fun as running outdoors, so no wonder you can't go your usual distance, probably good to give your legs a relative rest though:)

  4. I love a Lean Cuisine in a pinch, Beyonce is AWESOME and I love you and your socks.

  5. happy super bowl sunday!! go 49ers and i am hoping to catch the half-time show. i really wish we could see all the new tv ads up here in canada!!!
what about dumping the lean cuisine on top of salad?! adds some greens to the meal and some volume!
i am thinking about getting the garmin 10...hope you get back together with your garmin soon! nice job with the treadmill runs - and i love SR's blog!

    1. I agree - half the fun is the commercials!! :(

Oooh GO GO GO for the garmin! :D
I've done that in the past, had a lean cuisine and a loot of other random stuff on the side!

  6. I am so, so excited for the SuperBowl, but I want NEITHER team to win. Is that possible??? I hate the Ravens a lot but I can't stand to see the 49ers tie the Steelers' 6 SB victories. Sigh.

And I spend so much time looking up irrelevant running-related questions on the internet. Usually Runner's World but wherever the browser takes me, I go.

  7. I do love reading running websites. Back in Hamilton, I used to live right beside a public library and I read all of the runner's world magazines :D I've never heard of women's running so I'll check that out. I used to get iRun delivered to me for free for signing up for Mississauga Half but for some reason they stopped coming :(

I've never tried Healthy Choice but I can imagine it being very unfilling because it's catered for women on those stupid 1200 calorie plans and not real like women like who also run!

Ooh! I love beyonce! She's da bomb!

  8. Yeah I've only eaten the Lean Cuisine a few times for lunch (with tons of veggies on the side, so my "side salad" became the meal). Not a huge fan especially for how much the things are.

And I read running blogs like some people read the daily paper. Not the worst hobby in the world though!

  9. I used to eat them all the time until I realized for the price and portion size I could do much better on my own. But definitely good in a pinch. I actually usually have a couple of the pizzas in my freezer for those late night pizza cravings ;-)

I am indifferent towards who wins and in general ready for the SB to end since it has been chaos at work! But also really hope for a great game since football will now be ending which depresses me. The season always seems to fly by.

  10. I love Beyonce, I think she'll do amazing tonight! I saw her with Destiny's Child wayyyyyyy before they were big in their hometown, Houston. The girl can sing and perform so I have no doubt she will rock it out tonight! I'm excited.

Also, 6 miles on the treadmill?! Kudos to you!

I too love Skinny Runner! I'm also a fan of Hungry Runner Girl :-)

Kinda, really, extremely jealous of you seeing DC - i've never seen them or beyonce live!

  11. wow @ six miles...!!!!
I'm sorry I think I may have missed your birthday:(

  12. 'm not even sure if I'm going anywhere for the Super Bowl, bummer. I don't really care who wins, but I have a lot more fans who are Ravens fans than 49ers fans, so I guess I'm leaning towards the Ravens to win. I am excited to see Beyonce rock it though! I like the Lean Cuisine meals that you steam in the bag (Three Cheese Asiago Tortelloni and Mushroom Tortelloni), but I agree with you. They're just not filling enough on their own as a dinner. Enjoy the game!!

  13. haha those are totally just snacks to me too. Happy super bowl sunday!

    1. Aw thank you! About to pick up the snacks and food for the game..what other reason is there to watch, right?!

  15. When I didn't have time to make lunch for work, I would buy one of those lean cuisine, but the only downside it never filled me up.

I'm not a football fan at all, so for me this year I'm watching the puppybowl with my puppy (which means lots of barks will happen) and maybe going snowboarding.

  16. hey girl, am excited to have found your blog! i love that pic of you with the scarf, you look gorgeous. love your pink shoes too. so glad you had some easy feeling runs! i'm not a big running fan so to me i admire anyone who says a run is easy at any point haha! i am not a fan at all of lean cuisine or any frozen meals, for some reason they just freak me out, it's nothing to do with health. weird right? i don't usually like any pre-packaged meals for some reason. are destiny's child really performing together tonight?! oh em gee i'm more excited than i already was for super bowl.

    1. With the way beyonce has dodged the question, i'm gonna have to have a quick word with her if they DON'T perform, put it thay way!! :D

Thanks so much for stopping in! Have a great little Sunday!

  17. none of my teams are playing today so honestly, i don't care who wins, will probably pick the ravens just because i'm so close to sanfran and all the fans hate it when you aren't for them ;) i too am looking forward to beyonce's half time show!! i will be watching!! skinnyrunner is how i got addicted to running blogs lol i actually don't like the way healthy choice's taste.....

  18. I'm not planning to watch the game. Never really been in to football much. The longest treadmill run I've ever done is 11 miles and it was absolutely BRUTAL!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I LOOOVE Beyonce as well but what I'm truly looking forward to is the commercials! Without fail, they always crack me up.

I love your sneakers by the way. Anything neon has my attention. I feel like I need to stock up on them lol...sad I know...but I'm falling in love with running myself. Just need to drop this excess weight and be off!

As for Lean Cuisine...never had em. They're not popular in my country. I haven't even seen them in the stores here.

    xx

  20. I hate the treadmill! But sometimes that is the only way I can run!
Congrats on your miles! I did 6 miles today and I almost didn't finish it!
    Whoo hooo!
Can't for Beyonce either, a huge BEY fan and DC fan!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. When's your birthday? Mine's Wednesday...I'm very excited about it. And yep...my 49ers are playing! I'm kind of glad that I'm in the Uk at the moment - due to the time difference I have a great excuse to not watch it, I can just wake up and see that we won!!!

  24. I know what you mean about running sites. I usually have a few favorite running blogs that I read. My favorites are located in my city. But I can't get enough of them!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I LOVE your BEY love -- I heart her :) Is it weird that I really don't look at running websites -- I follow blogs but more just talk to people or tweet for information. Weird huh?

    ReplyDelete
  26. I used to have those meals for lunch, but they are sooooo gross. Plus, they are not remotely filling, and they are full of crappy stuff. Stay away if you can!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I am also obsessed with reading about running lately so, dont worry you are not alone! As cheap as I can be sometimes I even bought myself a "runners world" 2013 calendar. I LOVE it and it was on clearance but this was the first time I ever got a calendar for more than 99 cents (usually I stick to the free ones lol). I am also super excited about the half time show @ the superbowl. Cant wait!

  28. I've been spending a ton of time on running websites, running blogs, and reading running books. I feel like it's all I want to do lately. It's addicting!

That's so funny that you had a healthy choice as a late night snack. I had Auntie Annie's easy mac as my late night snack last night haha... at least it wasn't pizza!

Enjoy the last couple days of being 24. Happy almost birthday!!

  29. I love reading runners world, but I have never checked womens running... looks like I have some good reading to catch up on this afternoon!

    And, Happy EARLY birthday!

  30. I do eat those meals sometimes and I agree they are way to small to feel full! Although I get the brand Amy's and the rice bowls fill me up and have less calories!! I don't get lost on running sights but I do get on some and just loose track of time!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I honestly think you should stay away from those so-called meals! They are overly processed and there's nothing nutritious in them! Watch what you're eating, there are so many better alternatives. Take care about yr health honey!- says Maya a healthy food freak ;-)
