{Friday-way-too-early Workout}
Treadmill: 11.5 miles. {First 3 = 27:05, the rest at 9:40pace}

Dear Mr & Mrs Treadmill:
I apologize for all the trash-talking I've done about you in the past.
I spread vicious rumours about how you were -quote- mind numbingly boring - unquote-
It was definitely me, not you. I wasn't ready for you at that point in my life.
We've reached a lovely understanding now, and I'm grateful.

As you can see, I've kinda weirdly fallen in love with the treadmill these days.
After doing the 1/2 on there, anything less than that just flies by. I have cooompletely embraced TV watching. I don't watch much tv, so it's kinda my time to do it. I've appreciated the steady temperature indoors.
I've loved the energy of being in the gym with other people all around you.
I've just seriously enjoyed it.
I ran 11.5 miles at 8 am Friday morning. I didn't expect to. I started off really slow, but picked it way up to do the first 3 miles in 27:05 minutes:
Afterwards, I kept it at 9:40pace and finished at 11.5 miles for the day.
I *MUST* do a long run this weekend!!

Do you guys go on yearly planned vacations??
Since my brother works in the U.K. now, it certainly gives me a reason to go over once a year!
Soooo, I'm looking into summer dates on when I can head over! It's always nice for me to go back since I lived there for a greaaat 5 years.
My best friend in life lives there..and I miss her.
My trip last summer was amazing.
I suck at planning, and she's the best - we balance each other out.
She found the cutest little hotel for us when we went on a road-trip, with this comfy chair. ha!
We went to a new 5 million pound restaurant..a place we clearly did not belong. It was impressive:
and did NOT sleep for 3 days, while eating pretty and delicious cupcakes
Favourite vacation spot??
Dream place to go??
I must get myself to Italy one day!!

I wish I could love the Treadmill like that! Maybe someday, with a new attitude.
ReplyDeleteI only have one vacation that is a sure thing every year and that's our snowmobile vacation with my friends. Mmmmm Cupcakes!
snowmobile vacay - that jus sounds fab!!
Deletewow, can't believe you are enjoying the treadmill so much, I'm sure the COLD temp outdoors has completely got to do with it!!! At least you can watch TV though.... I LOVE Hawaii as my favourite vacation spot, was there last yr with my sister, so beautiful:)
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous---so much love for the treadmill, which I fondly call 'dreadmill'
ReplyDeleteI love San Francisco, and Hawaii(1999 was my last visit-honeymoon) and off late I'm in love with Venice(Italy)
My dream vacation spot is Greece! I swear, I will visit the country one day.
ReplyDeleteI have a bestfriend who's working in other country and I miss her, too. :) I'm sure your reunion with your bestfriend this year will be fun!
my friends went to Greece and said it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL there! Good choice!
DeleteMy family rents a house in Myrtle Beach every summer & I love that trip. It's like a second home & so relaxing. My dream vacation is to go to Cali, preferably SoCal, but I'll take any of the Golden State.
ReplyDeleteCali - I feel like that's a place I have to see once in my life, too. Just to see if it's like TV! lol!
Deletehaha, that comfy/big chair photo is awesome!!!
ReplyDeletekeep us posted on your travel plans - hope you can book your dates soon!
i LOVE love LOVE florida. for many years, aruba was the winter get-away spot and that was fantastic, too. hoping to get back to florida in 2014, maybe with the family this time!
i am loving the treadmill, too - way to go on your excellent run, glad you are having fun!
A good friend of mine went to Florida a couple months ago - he fell in love with it as well!
DeleteAruba sounds nice!
I haven't ran on the treadmill in a few weeks now... I usually have to adjust my speed constantly while I am on it or I get bored... a reason to visit another country sounds awesome! We will be having a family trip to FL in April and then hopefully visiting seattle in the fall...
ReplyDeleteI really want to find my way to New Zealand one day. It looks gorgeous and just perfection. I never ran on the dreadmill enough to ever like it, I am glad you do though! I just feel like if I'm going to be putting in all that effort, I should at least go somewhere to show it lol
ReplyDeleteNot only is NZ beautiful, the people are AMAZING too.
DeleteAh, I've never run so long on the treadmill. Only 6.2 miles (10k). I'm sure I could do it if I had to, but I'd much rather be outside. I'd love to go back to the Yukon with my kids and just camp again. So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOMG. Blue Ivy is TOO cute!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo awesome that you are lovin' treddie! You must tell us your secrets! Is it having a good show to watch?! Or did making it through that HM just make everything else seem like a breeze? We just have to do that too? ;)
Ooo, I hope you get a trip planned with your bestie soon! Love the big chair! I have some trips that I take each year, but nothing special. I am in NYC now to see my bestie ;) She moves to Texas next month!
I really think it was the HM on there that made me fall in love with it. I'm shocked myself!
Deleteawww man, she's moving away??! That's hard. I found that I'm even CLOSER to my best friend with the distance now. Hopefully that's the same for you!
Glad you find your stride on the treadmill! I cannot wait to be in a gym again, working out at home is not the same!! I sadly have never been on a true vacation :\ we once a year go to a family reunion out of state and when I was younger I thought it was cool to get a motel with a bunch of family and we would basically swim the entire time! Although my big plan is to take the little one to Disney in a couple years!!
ReplyDeleteaww Disney would be SO amazing. I really hope that happens for you!
DeleteI loved going to Hawai'i and San Francisco... I actually don't think I've ever had a "bad" vacation. I think my dream vacation would be to Europe or to Australia. I have a really good friend who lives in Germany and I would love to go visit her!!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, the treadmill is not that bad! Oh vacations are so much fun! I've been to Italy- well Rome, Venice, Florence, and Assisi. You'll enjoy Italy if you like churches and religious art and wine ;)
ReplyDeleteYou could not look more adorable on that giant chair! haha. & I've totally been diggin the treadmill lately too. Wish I could go to the U.K. for vaca. Gotta stick to road trippin in the states for now though :P
ReplyDeleteShow me the way to love the treadmill! I'm amazed at your mileage on that thing!
ReplyDeleteAlso, Beyonce's baby...ahhh! So cute!
Haha! I hear you on the treadmill thing. I have to say I also shared your point of view regarding how "boring" it was and my "love" for running developed outdoors. I havent been on a machine in almost a year! I wonder how it would feel to go back and try my running on a TM again :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVEEEEEE Vacationing. Specially to Europe. I also love people that plan everything because I am the worse as well. I would love to go to Spain this summer. That would be so awesome.
woowwweee, a year since you've been on a TM!! that's a heck of a streak! I know that I'll never want to see that machine again when the spring weather kicks in!
DeleteI definitely need to squeeze in a long run this weekend! The weather is going to be perfect for running, so I have no excuse.
ReplyDeleteThose cupcakes look gorgeous! I love the butterfly one :)
I wish I went on a yearly vacation! Although we spend a lot of weekends at the beach during the summer, so I guess I can't be too sad :)
ReplyDeleteYour new love for the treadmill is giving me hope that I may learn to like it one day :D We do yearly vacations, usually to different places. Last year we went to Hawaii (and of course I had to make it about running and decided last minute to run the Kona Half!) and we'll probably go again this year. My dream vacation would be a France/Italy tour, also a Scandinavian vacay would be nice. Best friend trips are THE BEST!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that you went running in hawaii!
DeleteI was injured when I went to the UK last year and so, SO majorly disappointed. It's wonderful to run in a new place/route!
That baby looks EXACTLY like Jay-Z. WOW. I've actually never seen a picture of her before.
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't remember the last time I went on a real vacation - like, somewhere out of the country. I'm seriously overdue for it.
i have a treadmill in my house, which don't get me wrong, i love that it's so convenient, but i do love me some people watching :D Hope you get your long run in today!!! the U.K. sounds like an awesome place!! i would totally want to go to Italy!!! it's going to happen one day :)
ReplyDeleteI'm still very impressed by your treadmill running. Can't wait to hear about your long run this weekend. What's your goal distance?
ReplyDeleteWe do try to go on an annual vacation -- whether it is something big like international travel or small like camping over a long weekend. This year we are going to Hawaii with my family! We have done camping trips to the Grand Canyon, visited Mexico, and gone to Alaska in recent years. It would be great for you to visit your BFF this summer!
Grand Canyon - once in my life, I have to go!
DeleteI feel like I'm in a mental block with a long run lately :( I have no real goal in mind, yet!
You have motivated me so much to make peace with the treadmill I gave you a little shout out on my blog :)
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures looks like you had a great time!!
Xx
I too have fallen in love with treadmill running, mostly because of the T.V.! Like you, I really don't watch T.V. otherwise so I love to multitask and kill 2 birds w/ one stone. I have noticed if something boring is on I about DIE on the treadmill though, so I save up good shows to watch.
ReplyDeleteI love the treadmill for short runs wen it is cold outside! but I think I love the elliptical most for tv watching!
ReplyDeleteI went to the UK once when I was 17 and loved it!!! I swore I was going back the following year and I've never been back. I would love to live there for a year (or 5)! Italy is incredible, I went on the same visit. If you can you should go!
ReplyDeleteGirl, you are CRAZY! Great job on your 11.5 mile treadmill run!
ReplyDeleteThe doctor told me I gave myself "onset asthma" from running in the cold, so if ever the time to begin loving treadmill running, now would be it! As always, thanks for the treadmill motivation!
I'm so jealous of your future vaca plans! I want to go to the U.K.!!
oh gosh! I didn't really realize you could give yourself asthma that way. I hope things are OK??!
DeleteThe picture of the baby is so great!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to a trip to myrtle beach this summer, which is also added motivation to get truly jacked before then!
ReplyDeleteWay to knock serious miles out on the treadmill! I avoided that sucker like the plague this week by having all the miles on the road... Phew.
My iPad did that, please delete..that is so inappropriate. I meant Jigga spit that one out for Sure!
ReplyDelete:)
Deleteand yes, one of my fave things ever is to run on vacations or ANYWHERE that's new to me. I was injured during my UK trip last year and it was such a disappointment to not be able to explore the city running!
Thank you for that. I wasn't sure if you had an editing option on this platform. Anywho, I was just wondering... When I vacation it is one of the only times I join you in this running world, on the treadmill anyway. I figure I'd look pretty silly teaching group fitness classes to myself, lol.
DeleteYou know it's funny because I was avoiding the treadmill like the plague but I did some speed work on there last week and now I'm all about it! (but only for speed, not long runs - 13 miles on a treadmill?! amazing!!). I do go on trips quire frequently because I love traveling. I was just in Rome last week! Italy is beautiful and if you are going to the U.K. already I would suggest taking a RyanAir flight - sometimes they are as low as 10 euro! - over to Italy for at least a few days!
ReplyDeleteFave Vacation Spot: New Zealand, hands down.
ReplyDeleteWent last year for the first time. LOVE. Gorgeous scenery, great people, lots of outdoorsy stuff to do, lots of milk & cheese, wine, did I mention scenery and outdoorsy stuff?
I cannot wait to go back.
That said, Italy is also pretty fantastic. When you go, spend most of your time in Florence. <---humble suggestion :)
Dream spot? I'm kinda daydreaming of safari-ing right now....
I really need to work on my relationship with the treadmill. Especially after this (horrible) winter I've realized I will need it to run through future winters. I think I'm going to put that off until next year though :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's boring but I always want to go to Hawaii!!
I don't plan international vacations yet because I'm so young, but I really hope that I will when I have a job.
ReplyDeleteThe treadmill and I have been encountering problems. Most times, I cheat with the earth. Sigh...I just find running outdoors so much better. I have a short attention span so that might be my problem.
ReplyDeleteThat is one MASSIVE chair! You looked like really really really tiny in it...i dub thee...thumbalina in chair! Those cupcakes look so yum OMG I have to keep that image out of my head *going to the kitchen to sip water before I cave*
And Italy...yes one day! I dream. Le sigh. Even if you have to hide me in your suitcase I wanna go! ...but we try to do yearly trips. Either to the islands here or to the U.S. I'm saving Canada for a special occasion...so I can convince the honey to perhaps move there. I so wanna move to Canada!
I can guarantee you that once the spring weather kicks in, I'm never going to want to see that treadmilla gain!
DeleteI may be slightly bias, but yes, move to Canada!!
This is funny...I still don't like ya very much darling treadmill. Sorry! You are on fire on that thing though girl! Blue is as precious as they come :)
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! I can totally relate about the treadmill. I have a love/hate relationship with mine!! Great job on the 11.5 miles!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could love the treadmill like that again! I used to but it's a work in progress these days.. I'm hoping for a 10 miler tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteUgh I wish I could love the treadmill. I use to enjoy it more but these days I really just want to get outside but it's fairly dangerous to do so because of the weather and I don't have the right shoes for it. I went to England once and had a wonderful time. One of my favorite places to go is Lake Michigan with my family. I know that seems a little lame but it's always such a good time.
ReplyDeleteI have a love/hate relationship with the treadmill-- living in the northeast, I definitely appreciated how it got me through the winters, but now I have little patience for it. Great job getting your 11 miles in!
ReplyDeleteWe definitely take a couple vacations every year. My husband hates winter... so we go somewhere tropic in the winter. Then we usually go camping in Colorado (or even just Michigan) for a week in the summer. LOVE vacations!!
ReplyDeleteThere's a need for more vacations in life! We're going to Costa Rica in a weeeeek!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm in awe that you can do those distances on the treadmill. Way to get after it, girl!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite vaca spot is Italy. Hands down. I am dragging my husband in September for his first trip. Hope you get there soon. You will love it!
The best vacation I've had was when my hubs and I went to Costa Rica for our honeymoon this past October.
ReplyDeleteI'd go back in a second!!
