Internet, TV, or Phone!??

Saturday = 4 miles : 40:20minutes

If you could choose to only have ONE of the three - internet, tv, or cell phone, which would you choose?

I’ve been disconnected from the internet world for a couple of days. I can EASILY give up TV - no problem. There are several days where I like to leave my phone and be free and disconnected from that way as well. If it wasn’t for safety reasons, I could happily go without my cell phone for a while.
Internet? NOOOO way!
Maaan, talk about internet-dependent and feeling LOST!

So, for the last couple of days, I’ve caught up with a gf for some (window) shopping for me:

I’m gonna need money to grow on trees because I saw several Calvin Klein dresses that I am LOVING!

Then, I spent time with mom and dad. My dad went to this outdoors goods store to check out some little boats and motors and stuff. (Did not buy though!)

We used to go out on the lake A LOT when I was younger. We lived close to a lake and it was such peaceful and fun family time to go boating!

Mom and I took pics to entertain ourselves:

Annnd, I’ve been running around the city:

I am really hoping for 10.5miles+ tomorrow. I'm throwing myself another party if I can get it done. Running has been hard lately. It's time to FOCUS!

Have you done/will you be running long this weekend?? Tell me, tell me! I feel so motivated when I read everyone's accomplishments!

  2. That is a tough question!! I text A LOT which is hard to give up as evidenced by me losing my phone! However, internet is my other bff...please don't make me pick! Hope you get your long run in and it feels great! I ran 3 miles yesterday with no pain :)

  3. I could totally give up all three, but internet would be the hardest. I've gone without all of them at some point, and never really find myself missing any too much. Forces you to live life how we are meant to, outdoors! Still, this week I would have DIED without all three [now I am sick of them], I really need to pick up/steal some good books and board games ;)

Also, did you cut your hair!?

    1. No hair cutting! It's been dyed soo many times and now, depending on the picture/daylight/flash, it'll look all sorts of colours..and depending if I decide to brush it or not, the length will look so different too, haha!

  4. I'm planning on going 10 tomorrow too! Too bad we live too far away to run together. You will rock it though, I'm sure!

  5. Oh my goodness being without the Internet would be the worst for me too!!! That is an impressive 7 mile run that you did Friday, well done.

  6. I would go crazy without the net--My android rocks LOL.
I need the t.v for my treadmill walks. So it seems, I cannot really live without any of these man made entertaining toys for big people.

  7. fun question!! i am the same as you, i am LOST without internet connection! tv is nbd as i don't have one and can take it or leave it; my blackberry i feel is a necessity for safety and communication (i don't have home phone, either). love love the internet!
good luck with your run! love that last photo of the CN tower!

  9. It's amazing how many other cool things you end up doing when you're cut away from technology :) For me I would choose having a tablet or something else small with internet. I can watch TV shows on it and Skype with ppl or instant msg them through fb or even the same Skype ;) Eah...I lived without Tv/ cell phone/ computer/ internet for a whole month while in Europe and it was amazingly refreshing ^^

Hey the weather is uber warm now so take advantage of it :P I so went running outside yesterday ;)

    1. I am LOVING this weird few days of winter we've had!! Lots of rain this morning, but I'll take it for the warmth!

  10. Giving up the cell phone would be great because I hate being at everyone's fingertips; I wish I could just go off the grid. I went for a long run in terms of my Vibrams because it was the farthest I've been able to go in them, and it was slow! You are right though, giving up the Internet would be tough! TV would be tough too, but there isn't much on these days that I get too excited about.

  11. Ohh that's a toughie! I could easily give up tv but between phone and internet, I am going to cheat and give up phone.....there's always Skype for calling friends/family right! :)

  12. Oooh that's a tough question. If I had to choose one, it'd probably be internet too.. or phone.. oh I don't know! Love the color of the shirt/dress/whatever you're wearing in the first pic. Oh and good luck on your long run!

  13. i think i would have to pick internet, the world is so focused around it now, that you kinda need to have it lol. love that yellow shirt your wearing!! omg that boat is so cute!! i love it, so small, yet i feel like it would have so much power lol. i finally was able to run 6 miles :) run the 10.5 for me!!

  14. I can easily live without phone and tv too, but definitely not the internet! Weird isn't it! I do really like it when you can't go on any of them for some reason and it just gives you a break. That picture of you and your Mum is so lovely by the way!

And in reply to your comment on my blog, I was the same, I'd always wanted to try out tooth whitening strips, but these weren't the greatest I'm afraid, nevermind! Thank you so much for reading all of it =) and yeah I would hate to give a good review on something I thought wasn't that great!

Good luck with your running tomorrow!

  15. I like having my phone especially for my loved ones, but internet, sometimes I need a break from it. I'm always working on a computer and being on the internet on weekdays so for me being off the internet is needed.

Would love to run in the city especially a city like Toronto.
The rain here in Michigan has been causing lots of muddy places so no running.

  16. I would have to say I cant live without the internet. I am with you on that it doesnt hurt leaving your phone behind sometimes in order to be "free" for a little bit. But internet is a WHOLE 'nother story! Love the pic of you and your mom :) congrats on all that running. I wasnt able to run this weekend :(

  17. 1. You are stunning.

    2. No question for me I say cell phone. You have internet on your phone and I never watch TV. I just need a few more chargers for the amount of time I would spend on it...

Hmm If I had to live with just one of them I would def say Phone - because I can acccess the internet from my phone haha!

  19. good luck with your long run! i went out for 8 today... my longest run since my marathon last month. it was great! if your long run is feeling tough, maybe try slowing your pace, even slower than you think you should, so then you can really enjoy it? that's what i'm trying to do (coach's orders;) and it leaves me feeling good about the run, then go fast on your shorter runs! :) it'd be hardest for me to give up internet... but tv is a close second only because that's my zone out time at the end of the day, sans kiddos!

    1. I promise you(because if I say that, I HAVE to do it), the next time I do a long run, I'm going to take that advice and slow it down even more than I should. I hit such a mental block that if i'm not running the pace that I *want* to, I end up cutting it short or feeling defeated. TERRIBLE mindset.
I might try and run without the Garmin to break out of this mindset!

  20. I can't live without Internet!! We don't have TV, so that would be easy to give up since we haven't had one for over 5 years!

  21. ooooh if i didnt have the internet i would be sooo depressed ha ha, i rely on it so much and i watch youtube, do my blog, and do so much more on it!!!!! also yes I love being comfy with my style! haha... that's why I dont really wear jeanns :)

  22. Looks like you had a really nice time. I'd say I couldn't give up Internet because I love blogging and stuff like that. Plus I could talk to my family that way!

  23. I would prefer giving up TV or internet and keeping my cell phone. Looks like you had a great time with your parents!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I would definitely choose the internet!! There is so much to do on there, plus you can watch TV on the internet and make phone calls!!!

  25. I don't think I could go without internet either. Plus you can watch TV on the internet now, so that's a plus!

  26. I find myself on the internet on my iPad, looking at my iPhone and watching TV. I think I need an intervention!

  29. I have been slacking and would like to pull 5 miles out of my hat tomorrow...If I am going to run in France I need to step it up a notch. 10 Miles is a long way and i have not been training since I got to London just a few short runs with long times.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I would take internet above all else. Can't give that up! If I could keep my iPhone with phone and internet and get around having to choose just one, I would do that :)
