Mother Nature - you win today. I'm staying in.
I left my gym pass at home, and did not bring enough layers to battle this -20 weather today.

It's my 25th birthday in exactly two weeks!
Tell me all about YOUR birthday!
Do you go all-out for your birthday??
Most memorable birthday you've had?
Every have a surprise party thrown for you?!
Best birthday gift?!
I'm usually with my closest friends or my immediate family. Nothing too crazy!
Ages 17-22, I was in the U.K for university + work.
My 18th birthday was a day out in the city for lunch:
19, I dragged my group of friends out to a huge sports bar for Superbowl Sunday - My bday always falls on that weekend..and we know I'm a crazed sports fanatic.
The guys loved it. The girls..well, they showed up, and for that I am grateful :D
20th was a bar in town!
21st birthdays are a BIG deal in the U.K.
Most of my friends hired out a huge hall, had 150 people invited for their birthdays. It is huge.
Me, I took 11 of my best guy and girlfriends and we rented out an apartment in Edinburgh.
Messy, Messy night where the boys got us all kicked out of the club. Yep.
Definitely memorable and preeeeeeeeeetty damn amazing!
Everything was a surprise for me.
They bought me this GORGEOUS and TASTY cake!
Set up this banner at the Mexican restaurant we went to (emailed my family to get those baby pics behind my back!!)
Can you tell what my nickname was..??
I'm not sure either.
22 - I can't even actually remember 22?!?!
23, I went to Vancouver for the first time!!
All my highschool gfs and best friends live there. We had NOT seen each other since highschool prom - 7 YEARS. It was an unbelievable week!
24 fell on Superbowl Sunday exactly. I spent it strictly with my mom and dad at home.
My bff from Scotland surprised me and mailed me this gooorgeous Tiffany's necklace!
So, 25 is in two weeks!
It falls on Tuesday - where I work all day. Fun. Grr!
It'll probably be very low-key this year.
I really want to gift myself with a long, long run - maybe a PDR?!

Wahoo for cold winter bdays!! 25 is a great age to turn! Too bad you have to work. Your other bdays look so fun! My most memorable bday is obviously my 24th when I got married :)
ReplyDeleteHAPPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOOOOOOOOOOOOOU (again!)
Delete21st are huge in Australia too. My husband's family rented a hall for about 100 people for his. Crazy. My most memorable birthday was probably when I studied in Australia when I turned 21. Since I graduated college, birthdays have been pretty low key.. just with family..
ReplyDeleteyaa I agree, since getting out of school, it's been much more low-key! It's nice though :)
DeleteThese all look amazing! Somebody's a party girl ;) JK. I don't know why 21 is such a big birthday in England though! You can drink when you're 18 after all. Is it like their Sweet 16? We always have low key birthdays. Just dinner and a bottle of wine more often than not. My husband was deployed for my past two birthdays, so that kind of took the celebration out of it. I've always wished someone would throw me a surprise birthday though.. Maybe this year!
ReplyDeletethat's a good comparison, it must be like the Sweet 16.I was totally shocked with how big a deal it was!
DeleteHappy early birthday! 25 is a big one. I dont usually go too all out for my birthday, but every few years I do at least try to get a bunch of people together to go out.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteBut a PDR?? Crazy. How far are you looking?
ReplyDeleteI've never done more than a 1/2 marathon distance..so ANYTHING above that and I'll probably break down and cry of happiness! haha!
DeleteI have had some crazy fun birthday over the years. One of the most memorable was turning 28 - it involved taking over an entire bar, male strippers, goodies with my face all over them, and an overall great time. I have some pretty awesome (okay insane) friends.
ReplyDeleteThat was my last big birthday - this year will be celebrating in what I cannot imagine a more memorable way - running my first marathon the day before! Miami marathon this Sunday and birthday Monday - all R&R and hopefully glowing from a great race!
LOL that's a FAB 28th.
DeleteYes, yes, yes, I am SOOOO excited for you. GOOD LUCK on your first marathon and I am gonna (patiently, I'm not very patient) wait for an update :D
HAPPY BIRTHDAY too!!
Happy early birthday! You are so pretty! i am not a huge birthday person so I generally lay low or go out to dinner with my boyfriend!
ReplyDeleteWow -- how fun to remember all those birthdays and have pics from each day, too! I turned 25 a looong time ago but remember it was a fun one. My most recent birthday was a VERY big one (and, no, it was not 30 but bigger than that) and my sweet hubby surprised me with a trip to Italy! He literally planned the entire trip, arranged for grandparents to watch the three kids for a week and took me to the airport with me still having NO IDEA where we were going! (I wrote a blog post on it back in October.) It was truly amazing. But other than that big celebration, I usually am pretty low-key with my birthdays. I'm sure that has something to do with the fact that at 40, I don't look forward to them anymore. Ha! :)
ReplyDeleteoh my gosshhh, talk about melt-your-heart sweet. That is so, so lovely of him!!
DeleteHappy early birthday! It looks like you've had some fun ones! I think my 24th was the last one that I really celebrated, but I'm thinking about doing a Tough Mudder for my upcoming one! Hope you have fun whatever you decide to do!
ReplyDeleteHave a very merry UN-birthday (<-- remember from Alice in Wonderland?:) today! It's so fun to remember past bdays. Mine were definitley more fun in my 20s... lots pf partying with my best girlfriends, I think I got a tatoo on my 24th... funny how fuzzy that all is ;) but after I married my bday scrooge husband (he's just not that into them), birthdays became less and less exciting (or maybe it was just me getting boring? ha!) until this year! Having my bff fly across the country to hang with me was the best! I also had a great run and bday brunch with my running group.
ReplyDeleteoooooh what tattoo did you get?!?! :O haha that's a great way to celebrate :D
DeleteSo fun! Last year the boy took me to San Fran for my 25th, but we only stayed for 3-4 hours [LONG story]. Usually I keep them low key and let things be all about my sister since I don't like to be the center of attention (:
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that necklace, and am so obsessed with Tiffany&Co. I'm still kicking myself for never buying the sugar stack rings.
Ps. Happy early birthday! (:
Twins always fascinate me..I know, I know. haha!
DeleteI'm not a fan of being the centre of attention either, that's why the thought of a big hall of sooo many people was a big no, no!
Lovely to look back at your birthdays!!! 25 is a big one, I remember thinking 25 was old - lol:) I actually feel fitter now at 39 so not to worry! That cake you had for your 21st looks STUNNING!! I had a surprise 30th, I am not a fan of surprise parties and I was pregnant at the time and felt vile....I loved my last birthday - a run, out on the boat, lunch with friends and fish and chips with my family in the evening:)
ReplyDeleteOk, aaand your last bday sounds like perfection and peace.
Deletefun photos!! you saw my bday countdown! yay for 2 more weeks :)!!
ReplyDeleteAhh, we are the same age! Twenty-four has been a great year, but I bet 25 will be even better! My birthday is April 16. I think my favorite birthday would have to be my 19th, when two of my best friends surprise visited me at school. I was SO excited!!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics! I loved reading about all your celebrations! So fun! Living in the U.K must have been awesome!
ReplyDeleteHappy early birthday! I just turned 25 too... it's been a good age so far so get excited!
ReplyDeleteFor me, 24 flat-out sucked! lol, such an up and down emotional year. I can't WAIT for 25!!
DeleteThat necklace is gorgeous!! And your cake is too cute! Happy early birthday!!
ReplyDeleteAww I'm sure Toronto has a gazillion really cool places to go to celebrate your bday :) You don't necessarily have to celebrate it exactly on Tuesday and do the whole party over the weekend :P
ReplyDeleteBack in high school me and my friend would have our b-days 10 days apart so we would have massive house b-day parties inviting about 15 people. Once university started my bday feel during the exam period so I haven't done much then. I did hot chocolate shots on my 19th (straight up melted chocolate) instead of the deal because I had an exam the next day. C'est la vie! At least I celebrated my 21st in Mexico with my fam <3
oh my gosh - hot chocolate shots, I want in!!
DeleteHere comes 30 for me, and I am going to get buck wild! I think we will go see a Reds game, and then go out in Cincinnati. I am actually looking forward to 30 because I don't feel or look that old. Plus, I will enter a new racing age group! I am going to smoke some fools!
ReplyDeleteooooooooooo 30 is a big, big one :D
DeleteAhh I love this birthday recap. Happy almost birthday! Love Love LOVE that Tiffany's necklace, what an awesome friend :P
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Looks like you've had some amazing bday celebrations. I love the renting out an apartment idea lol. My bdays are usually pretty low key. I have dinner with famuly and then my friends take me out to dinner. Back in the days (early 20s) I would go clubbing and dancing. Def great times! My most memorable bday has to be my 20th. A group of friends (including a boy I was head over hills for back then) threw me a surprise party :). Hope you enjoy your 25th!
ReplyDeleteawwww that's so nice. I want to GIVE someone a surprise party one day!
DeleteHow fun to look at birthdays over the years! I hope 25 is amazing! I am sure it will be :)
ReplyDeleteYay!!! Happy birthday!!!!
ReplyDelete25?! I had no idea! I am excited for your birthday, I hope it ends up being a great one!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Tiffany necklace!
ReplyDeleteYou've has a lot of awesome birthdays!! I love that Tiffany's necklace...that's such a special gift! It's actually my birthday this Thursday and I'm turning 25, too. I started celebrating last weekend when my sister and friends from home were visiting, and I accidentally became a birthday diva this year so I'm continuing festivities into this weekend... haha I'm excited to hear about your 25th! Happy almost birthday!
ReplyDeleteIt should definitely be birthday month! Happy birthday for tomorrow!!
Deleterun 25k to celebrate??!
ReplyDeletevery fun pics - thanks for sharing! you have enjoyed some great bdays, love the variety.
my bday was two weeks ago today and it was a perfect day - luckily, i was off work so could do what i wanted.
i wish it would WARM UP out there!!!
I've been thinking about the 25k. I really, really, really want to. It would be a new distance for me..and a seriously great way to start the day!
DeleteYou've definitely had some pretty amazing birthdays!!! I used to go all out and hang out with my friends and do something amazing, lately Jimmy and I have a tradition where we go away either camping or just out of town for the weekend!
ReplyDeleteWow..I need to ask my parents to send me my baby pics too!! :)
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of running a 25K to celebrate. :)
Your birthdays all look super fun!
ReplyDeleteSince I turned 21 I have always celebrated my birthday for a week! lol. Going out every.single.night with family and different friends. I have a twin, so we always do a couple things together.
For my 25 bday though, I didn't feel like doing alot. I rented some movies and got takeout, cupcakes and wine. It was a perfect night:-)
oh you have a twin, I love that :D
DeleteI'm a very laid back person (my friends are pretty crazy though) so your 25th sounds absolutely PERFECT for me.
all i want is CAKE!
How cool that you lived in the UK for 4 years!!! I so wanted to go on Uni exchange there.
ReplyDeleteI love this post! I'm all for big time BDay celebrations! We all need more excuses to celebrate. Not that every year has been a big party, but every Birthday has been pretty nice even if it has been small. 25 was one of my best years! You will love it, it is such a good age. Super young but gained that maturity that would have helped in early 20s.
25 miles for your 25th??
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of doing that....but I would die around mile 16! Haha!
Happy very soon 25th! :)
I might very well end up in a hospital if I tried 25 miles, hahahahah! sooo, I'm thinking 25k!!
DeleteAww birthday's are exciting!!! I don't much for mine anymore, but the little girls I do something small each week for a month leading up to her birthday and then do something big the day of!! Happy early birthday I hope it's really good!!
ReplyDeletethat necklace is so pretty!!! and so is the cake!!! go big!!! hope your birthday is great :)
ReplyDeleteLove the necklace! I'm sure this year will be just as epic as the last!
ReplyDelete25 was a bad birthday for me i had a 1/4 life crisis quit my job and went back to school oh and moved from Florida to Ohio! goodluck!
ReplyDeleteoh love! that's A LOT of life changes eh.
Delete24 has been very hard on me emotionally, so I get it.
Your birthdays look like so much fun. None of mine have really been anything since my 21st. Happy Early Birthday!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome collection of birthdays you've had! My birthday is tomorrow (#28! Ahh!)and it will be the first one with my daughter so I'm already putting that one to the top of the list ;-)
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
DeleteWhatever you do for 25, it needs to involve a cake like you had for your 21st. that looks AMAZING!!
ReplyDeleteMy birthday is in a couple weeks too, and I don't know what I am going to want to do!! Last year I stayed in and made myself a wonderful meal with family. The year before I went out with my friends!! I just don't know!!
ReplyDeletewooohooo, bday twins(almost)
Deleteall I want is cake this year!
I think it'll be pretty quiet for me on the actual day..and just see some friends in and around the bday week!
You will have a faaab time regardless!
I like birthdays too, but don't always do anything too crazy. Last year was fun though -- we went on a limo wine tasting tour with 10 friends or so. Then came home for cupcakes!
ReplyDeleteoooh love the limo idea.
DeleteWhat can ever go wrong with cupcakes!
That necklace is amazing! Hope you have a great 25th birthday, despite the fact that it falls on a Tuesday :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, birthdays are a mixed bag for me too. Even though you're working, I'm sure 25 will be special!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, you're a baby! ;)
ReplyDeleteSecond of all, I make my bdays last a good week, minimum! Only day of the year that you can make all about yourself, no questions asked...
Happy birthday! I like your UK nickname! :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy almost birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteI love birthdays- I like to turn mine into a holiday =)
I LOVE birthdays -- not just mine, but all those who are near and dear to me! Looks like you always have fun!!! My 25th was just a good party with friends and family!! Def treat yourself to a nice LONG run :)
