______________________________________________

There is no running talk today. Back to regular scheduled programming tomorrow!

I am a *HUGE* sports fan - specifically, basketball.
I've been a Lakers fan since I was about 9 years old.
Basically, I've followed their every move, and been a fan during the huge ups and downs. I adore Kobe Bryant.

Can I get a little heeeey for stalker-like behaviour??

Today was the Lakers game!!

You might have seen the hand-on-hip pose 34583 times already. I'm sorry.

Laker tix are SO expensive, so my mom chose to sit this one out, since she's impartial. She went shopping instead!

It was my dad's first ever NBA game , and the first time for both of us to see the Lakers/Kobe.
Kobe is going to be retiring in a couple of years, so I was just over the moon to be able to experience this!
I really can't believe I got to see him live - it's a big deal for me!

GREAT game, with an electric atmosphere! (uhh..Lakers lost..).

Our hometown Raptors have a thing where if they score 100points, everyone gets free pizza from Pizza Pizza with their game tickets the next day. The Raptors scored 100pts - The crowd went nuts. Guess what I'm having for lunch tomorrow. ha!

Lastly, nothing made me happier than to see how much fun my dad had.

Let's talk sports!!

Favourite sport to watch??
I literally watch it ALL (basketball, football, baseball, soccer, tennis etc). I've been a basketball fan all my life though!
{gotta say, I'm a bit bummed about the Pats losing tonight}

Is there a team you follow?
Do you PLAY any sports??
I used to play tennis a few years ago! (With a coach and everything). LOVE tennis, and very seriously miss it. I'm on a mission to get back to it this summer!

  1. You kill me. So glad you got to see the lakers play, and a win-win since you now get free pizza, eh!? (:

I always wanted to go to a raptors v jazz game when I was there, but they always ended up playing each other the week after I left [worst lucky ever!]

Also I only really like basketball. All other sports bore me (:

  3. So happy for you. I was totally expecting to see you and your dad completely decked out in Laker gear at the end of the post :) My family and I are HUGE Steelers fans. I love following the NFL, but aside from tennis and a bit of hockey, I am impartial to most other sports.
I used to play a mean game of tennis, too. I have played since and the only thing I have lost is my serve :(
Oh and I LOVE watching the pro runners and triathletes when marathons or Ironmen are broadcast, which is rare.

  14. That is really great for you! I'm glad your dad enjoyed it as well. Basketball is not big at all here in South Africa. Here is is mostly Rugby and Cricket. Our teams are really good and always at no 1 or close to no 1 in the world. Our domestic competitions are also very competitive.

  15. Oh my word, that is so exciting!!!! :)

  16. Glad you had fun. I am a hockey fan! I haven't played a sport since middle school soccer, other than running.

  17. There is something about seeing a live sports event! The atmosphere can't be beat. Bummer about the loss, but free pizza is cool too. Just nicer if they got 100 pts AND the Lakers won. That would have been a win win.

Being in NYC we are Giants fans all the way, and I love the Rangers too. I like hockey, it's such a fun sport to watch! I used to play Field Hockey in HS and ran hurdles. It's still running I know, but is a whole other animal.

    1. whoa, running hurdles is AMAZING I think! that's fantastic!
Giants are my football team! :) I randomly picked it because I have a (small??) obsession with NYC!

  20. My favorite event to watch is the World Cup, oddly enough. My group of friends really gets into it, and we do a squares game to bet on the whole thing, and to give us a country to root for beyond just the U.S. I love watching football, but I grew up on baseball, so that has a special place in my heart. I love march madness in college basketball, and I get into the NBA during the playoffs, where I root for the Thunder. I keep tabs on most of the sports though, and I like a good story.

That game looks like a blast! There isn't much better in this world than going with you dad to a game.

  39. What a GREAT time! I went to a Piston's game one night (Halloween) where they honored Breast Cancer Survivors so my grandmother got to go on the court at halftime. It was such a great experience.

I love to watch all football, and the finals of basketball and hockey. I even watch (I know... yawn) golf.

In high school I ran track (high jump), and played volleyball and basketball. I then played basketball in college.

So glad you got to see Kobe!
