10 miles @ 7am.

{Work-It-Ooooout}

I'm about to throw myself a party for today's run.

1.) I went out at 7am. And I ran. Like...my legs were moving.

2.) It's the longest straight-through run I've had in a LONG time.

3.) It was -3 ish when I started running. And, I am definitely Canadian because I thought the weather was PERFECTION. There was no wind, the coldness was simply perfection. I much prefer this to summer running.

Booooooooom:

Look maaa, 16.2miles left to go for a full marathon! Ok. We won't look at it that way.

The sun was just coming out when I started:

The roads were sooo quiet and sooooo peaceful.
It's hard to run in the city at other times of the day because the sidewalks are so busy.

As the sun was coming up, here's my view:

Crappy action shot:

Ran by the waterfront:

Finally, the sun is out, and the lights are out on the C.N. Tower:

Oh heyyy, my morning friends:

Tangent: I went out to dinner with a lovely friend of mine last night (I ran by it today).. We went to this new Japanese tapas restaurant, A-OK
My friend is a BIG foodie. Me? I'm pretty easy, I'll eat absolutely anything, as long as I don't see/taste onions too much. My faaavourite type of restaurant are Tapas style though: I loooove having a variety of plates and sharing and picking at different things!
Are you a tapas fan?? Favourite type of food? I'll always love Italian, I think my least favourite might be chinese (Sorry, mom)

Anyway, I LOVED this run. Every single thing about it. My legs felt really good, my breathing/lungs felt great..and I was mentally with it.
Cardio high? Yessss.
My legs will be sore tomorrow, I can feel it.

It's a huge mental boost for me to finally get a good outside run going.

I went shopping on the walk home.
Close your eyes and walk by the sweets, woman.

If I'm able to move tonight, I'd like to go catch a movie. It's been a while!
For now, a big comfy sweater and some TV!

  3. Wow, impressive run! And impressively early. I can't get out of bed at all at the moment! We saw the Hobbit this week, it was good but didn't rock my world.

  4. AWESOME JOB GIRL! 10 miles and doing it at 7AM is such an accomplishment! I'm doing my long run today, too- but I'm fighting off a cold so I never would have been able to wake up that early. I saw Zero Dark Thirty last night and loved it- but definitely jumped through the whole movie. Jessica Chastain was amazing in it.

  5. Great job on getting in a great 10 miler this morning! I'm hoping to get a long run in at some point this weekend -- maybe tomorrow. The long run is my favorite time of the week.

I saw 007 a few weeks ago, that was good. Haven't seen anything else recently, but I might go to the movies this weekend too. Seems like there is a lot of good stuff out!

  22. Great job on your 10 mile run! I am currently in CO (normally live in TX) and I don't know HOW people run in this constantly. I guess the fact that we're 9000 feet up isn't helping but it's SO COLD! Especially at night! You're like my hero for running in -3! Oh and I added you to my favorites page... hope you don't mind ;-)

  26. Way to go, you! I just ran the other day in downtown Phoenix and I can see how it might be easier to do city-running early in the morning.
When you close your eyes and walk by the sweets you have to be sure to also take a BIG HUGE breath to at least enjoy that part!!

  27. Amazing! You are my inspiration! There is nothing like a nice nice quiet run to start the day!

  29. Oh goodness! I would have tripped while taking an action shot! Next would be a picture of my face on the cement..

Up north here, the sun doesn't rise until closer to 9:15! So depressing!
